01. Running doesn’t end at graduation
I want kids to keep loving running.
I love winning. It’s fun, and accomplishing something a kid once thought was impossible can change how they see themselves.
I also want them to enjoy running when the season is over. When they graduate. When nobody is taking attendance or telling them what pace to run.
Running has given me more than I could possibly put on a results sheet. I want athletes to have the chance to find what it means to them. Their version might look different from mine. That’s fine.
They’re even allowed to leave the watch at home. I’ll cope.
